Fantastic Finish for Boone County
11/22/2008 - by NKS Editor
In Class 6A, Henry Clay and Boone County held each other scoreless until the last minute of the game. And, within that last minute of play 16 points were scored. The Rebels kicked a 29-yard field goal with 1:03 left and it seemed like it would end on a 3-0 score. But on the ensuing kickoff return, Henry Clay's Tyler Hooker scampered 82 yards for a touchdown giving Henry Clay a 7-3 lead with 49 seconds left. Boone County returned their kickoff to their own 39-yard line and drove down to the Henry Clay 8-yard line with 3 seconds left. On the last play of the game Mike Walsh hit Daniel Lokesak for the 8-yard touchdown pass and the win 9-7. Boone County will host Simon Kenton next week.

In another Class 6A matchup, Simon Kenton outlasted Conner 46-41 thanks to the Pioneer's running back Miles Simpson who accumulated 287 yards on 41 rushes and 6 touchdowns.
