Even though the Footbal Playoffs are still going on, the indoor action of NKY High School basketball begins this week and tonight (Dec 2), eighteen NKY High schools games are being played.
For boys' basketball, Holmes is the team to beat again. The Bulldogs are ranked #2 in the State and return 3 starters from last year's state runner-up team. Holmes begins their season against Beechwood on Wednesday night. Here's the remaining rankings of the Kentucky Enquirer's Coaches boys' poll:

4) Campbell County
5) Highlands
6) NewCath
7) Ryle
8) Dixie
8) St. Henry
10) Scott
For girls' basketball, Highlands is ranked #1 in the polls. The Bluebirds will begin their season against Brossart on Thursday. Highlands has all their starters returning this year but will have some competition with Simon Kenton and Conner. The Cougars ended the Bluebird's season last year in the first round of the Ninth Region tournament. Here are the remaining girls' rankings:
