| NewCath Advances to State Baseball Tournament |

NewCath defeated Lawrence County 13-3 in 6 innings to advance in the Kentucky State Baseball Tournament. They will play Pleasure Ridge Park next on June 16 at 8:30 P.M.

NewCath rallied from a 2-1 deficit in the bottom of the 6th inning to defeat Conner 3-2 in the 9th Region Tournament Championship. The Breds produced three straight 2-out hits from Nick Woltermann, Andy Miller, and Brady Gray to take the lead. Senior Luke Schmits threw three scoreless relief innings for NewCath to seal the win, and was also named the tournament's MVP.
NewCath started the tournament with an 8-4 win over Beechwood and a 4-3 win over Boone County. NewCath will play Lawrence County in the first game of the state tournament on Tuesday, June 14, at 1:30 pm at Whitaker Bank Park in Lexington, KY.
