Brossart's Justin Seiter Named To 10th Region Hall of Fame
2/28/2006 - by Dave Schabell
Justin Seiter has been elected to the 10th Region Boys Basketball Hall of Fame on the first ballot of his eligibility and will be inducted in a ceremony in conjunction with the 10th Region Banquet on Tuesday, March 21st at Mason County High School. He and the HOF Class of 2006 will be introduced at halftime of the 10th Region Championship game on Saturday night March 11th.

Justin joins his brother Nathan as Brossart High School's only male members of this elite fraternity. Nathan was also elected on the first ballot of his eligibility in 2003.

Justin played for the Mustangs from 1996-2000. He was a varsity starter from his sophomore through senior seasons. He amassed 1,124 points during his varsity career despite missing most of his junior season with a broken wrist.

During his career he started in two 10th Region Championship Games, the first as a sophomore when the Stangs were defeated by Fleming County, and the second in 2000 where he will be best remembered for scoring 28 points and hitting the shot that sent the Mustangs to Rupp with our first and only 10th Region Title. In that game he demonstrated his ability to take over a ballgame and his blatant refusal to lose. The Maysville-Ledger Independent reporter covering the game that night wrote that the difference in the game was that "one team had Justin Seiter and the other one didn't."

The Mustangs went on to upset Graves County in the 2000 Sweet Sixteen State Tournament and finished in the Elite Eight.

His former coach, Willie Schlarman, who will induct him, calls Justin the "greatest athlete he has ever coached."
