Lady Bulldogs Roll, Improve to 26-1
Brian Frey - The River City News
In a game that was dominated by whistles on both ends of the floor, Holmes moved to 26-1 with an impressive 77-41 win over Cooper on Thursday night.

The Lady Bulldogs, who have been getting off to slow starts in recent games, jumped on Cooper early and opened a 19-4 lead before Cooper scored five unanswered points to close out the first quarter.

In the second quarter, Cooper cut the lead to seven before the Holmes defense turned up the pressure, forcing several Cooper turnovers that led to easy buckets on the other end. The Lady Bulldogs closed out the first half with a 17-2 run and went into the locker room with a 22-point lead at the half.

Holmes continued to roll in the second half, outscoring Cooper 21-9 and holding them to just 19 points over the final 16 minutes of the game.

In all, there were 40 fouls called over the four quarters of action but only one player fouled out.

With the loss, Cooper falls to 8-15 on the season.

Next up for the Lady Bulldogs is a game at Campbell County a week from today. Cooper will also face Campbell County next week in a matchup scheduled for Tuesday.
